Holiday Card

The message for this holiday card was developed from my concept of creating unique snowflakes using the elements from the YMCA logo. The snowflakes are representative of the special individuals that make the YMCA community. The printed version of this holiday card had a metallic foil in every area that was medium blue giving a shimmer effect to the snowflakes.

Environmental Graphic

These are large scale graphics that are located in the lobby of the YMCA Center building. They highlight mission of the YMCA of Metro Chicago and show the reach the organization has throughout the Chicago land area.

Event Materials

These materials were created for the Mission Advancement department for their new YXP event series. The event series included a guest speaker, as well as building tours. The goal event was to cultivate and engage donors in order to raise funds for YMCA programming and for the newly finished YMCA Center in Chicago’s west loop.

The YMCA center and many of the Y’s programming are based out of Chicago therefore I created materials with a Chicago theme. My goal was to give the materials their own unique look and identity that could be carried out at future YXP events, all while staying within the strict YMCA brand standards.

Branding

This Oishii branding was created for a Japanese/Sushi restaurant, with a contemporary style. Oishii means delicious or tasty in Japanese.  A circular image was designed to represent sushi, “maki” a traditional Japanese sushi roll.  A brush stroke was used to incorporate the traditional Japanese calligraphy. The traditional brush stroke was then partnered with a clean, modern san serif typeface to bring forth the modern style and atmosphere within the restaurant.

The color black was incorporated due to the traditional black ink used in Japanese calligraphy. It is paired with chartreuse which is being utilized as an accent color. It was selected due to the feeling of freshness it gives off, alluding to the fresh ingredients used in the food and the healthy ingredients used in sushi and Japanese food.
